Ubisoft is working on an interesting new project.
Ubisoft is expanding their content to the big screen. The new project will feature a group of senior citizens entering the world of Esports.
Apparently, Ubisoft is coming to Hollywood. According to a recent press release on Ubisoft’s website, they are branching out from the gaming industry into Hollywood. The film team at Ubisoft has teamed up with the creators of the film, I Feel Pretty, Abby Kohn, and Marc Silverstein. The 2019 film was a comedy starring Amy Schumer.
As of now, there are limited details available in the public realm about the new film. It is likely still in early development, so there are probably no decisions made regarding the cast and crew. We do know that the plot is about senior citizens entering the esports arena to try to win. It is a concept based off of the 2019 Wall Street Journal article by Laura Parker,
THE NEXT GENERATION OF COMPETITIVE GAMERS IS…OVER 60?> is the article that Ubisoft is using to create this film.
In addition to Silverstein and Kohn, two top film executives at Ubisoft, Jason Altman, and Margaret Boykin will also produce the film. Jason Altman is the Senior Vice President and Head of Ubisoft Film and Television production. Margaret Boykin is the director and of Film Development at Ubisoft.
This series is just one of many for Ubisoft. Already, the film production team has produced the Apple TV+ series, Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet. The developer also has plans to create a movie about The Division franchise. The film is set to star Jake Gyllenhaal.
